The Campingpark Gitzenweiler Hof - a paradise for all generations.
The interests of all generations of campers may differ, but the offers on and around the Campingpark Gitzenweiler Hof are wide-ranging enough to meet them all. Lovers of nature and sports will find that there is as much on offer for them here as there is for those with cultural or historic interests. Lovers of good food will also find they are catered for.
Outside the holiday period, the Camping Park is transformed into a precious island of plenty of open natural spaces, close to nature and at the same time modern. Ponds, the shore promenade, organic vegetable gardens, a great variety of plants and the mature trees all contribute. Nature-loving campers will feel the close connection to things green and growing. Particularly in the Kneipp hydrotherapy centre by the wild brook: a place to relax and revitalise yourself.
In addition, the site and its comfortable facilities are in the midst of a rich area of natural beauty. The fruit-growing region around Lake Constance and the forests around the Camping Park invite long walks and cycling trips in the summer and cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snowshoe walking and reflective long walks in the winter. When the air is clear, you can see the Alps on the other side of Lake Constance.
At the same time, the surrounding area offers all kinds of opportunities for sporting activities, such as golf, sailing or Nordic walking.
Classical concerts offer culture, for example in Lindau, Friedrichshafen, on the Flower Island of Mainau and in Bregenz. Here we would like to emphasise in particular the Festival Stage with its unique backdrop and scenery
Or you can simply relax in the Camping Park and take things easy - just fetch a book from the library for a comfortable read, then go and have tea in the Hexenstube and in the evening enjoy the specialities of Swabian-Bavarian cuisine in the Wirtshaus am Gitz or Mediterranean cooking and pizzas in the Ristorante Pinocchio. A fitting end for a successful day's holiday at the Gitzenweiler Hof.
All that is left to mention are the historical traces left by the Gitzenweiler Hof. Its roots go back to the 14th century. The distinctive manor house and former customs house is evidence of the one-time importance of this site, the gateway to Lindau. Even today, the family coat of arms is still displayed above the doorway, that of the noble family of "von Haider zu Gitzenweiler," which you can also see on the old Lindau town hall.
